ALI THOMAS

She earned a Paralegal Studies Certificate from James Madison University and is dedicated to providing comprehensive support to our clients, playing a crucial role in ensuring that legal processes run smoothly and efficiently. As a proud mother of two, Ali balances her professional responsibilities with family life, cherishing every moment spent with her children. Outside of work, she enjoys the beach and attending live music events, embracing the vibrant experiences life has to offer. Having a commitment to our clients and a strong desire to make a positive impact in our community, Ali assists our attorneys by conducting legal research, preparing case documents, and ensuring that all deadlines are met. With a passion for law, Ali is committed to continuing her education as she works towards a law degree, gaining the first-hand experience of a Paralegal along the way! 

SARA SHEFFER
Legal Receptionist
-  LEARN MOREBorn and raised in Augusta County, Virginia, Sara dreamed of joining the military. At 18, she joined the United States Air Force where she served her community and country for 8 years. In those years, she travelled all over the world and developed a passion for Criminal Justice. She earned her associate’s degree in Criminal Justice as well as an associate’s degree in Personal Training and Exercise Science. As of now, she is working on her bachelor’s in Personal Training and Exercise Science before moving on to a Paralegal Studies Certificate. In her free time, Sara enjoys spending time with her family and friends, working out, crocheting and jewelry-making, and vending at craft shows a few times a year. Sara has a strong work ethic and loves helping our clients in any way that she can. She assists our law firm by scheduling appointments, contacting clients, answering the phones, and helping with legal research/document drafting as needed. Sara hopes to have a long career working hand in hand with our attorneys by providing her skills and knowledge to help our community. 

DEVON KENEFICK, ESQ.

-  LEARN MOREDevon Kenefick is originally from a small town in Maryland and attend Hood College, where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. She then earned her Juris Doctorate at Penn State Dickinson Law, where she focused her studies on Intellectual Property, Business Law, and Entrepreneurship. Devon has varied legal experience including wills, state licensing, and immigration law. She previously worked as in-house Senior Counsel for Mas Labor, where she directed the company’s PERM program for employment-based immigrant visas and provided quality control assistance for the H-2B non-immigrant visa program. While there, she interfaced with the Department of Labor and United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, and is well-versed in submitting immigrant and non-immigrant applications, handling BALCA appeals, H-2 audits/litigation, and other government responses to these agencies. 

NEVIN VOORS, ESQ.

-  LEARN MORENevin was born in Virginia Beach before moving around the world as the son of a naval officer and schoolteacher. He later earned his bachelor’s degree from Old Dominion University, double majoring in Business Analytics and Finance. During his college years, Nevin attended school in the evenings while working as a certified master mechanic during the day. Nevin went on to simultaneously earn his JD from Penn State Dickinson Law and his MBA from Penn State - Harrisburg before returning to Virginia to launch his legal career. While in law school, Nevin focused his legal studies on corporate, small business, and entrepreneurial matters. He has corporate legal experience working as an in-house Associate Counsel for Mas Labor, where he focused on quality control of both the H-2A non-immigrant and TN visa programs. Nevin was instrumental in H-2A related litigation, including BALCA Appeals, WHD investigations, DOL Audits, and a variety of other matters. He also has legal experience with civil litigation, business matters and company creation, real estate transactions, wills, professional licensing disciplinary proceedings, contractual disputes, and lobbying. 

JEREMY C. SHARP
Associate Attorney
-  LEARN MOREJeremy was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan but relocated to Russell County Virginia at the age of fifteen. Jeremy’s father, Gerald F. Sharp, was an attorney for the United Mine Workers of America representing coal miners throughout Southwest Virginia. Jeremy later moved to Charlottesville where he attended the University of Virginia. There, Jeremy received his Bachelor of Arts in History, and was a member of the Phi Alpha Theta history honor society. Inspired in part by his father's work representing injured workers, Jeremy decided to become an attorney too. He studied law at the University of Richmond and became a member of the Bar in 1996. He worked as a public defender in the City of Richmond, and also practiced with Civil Litigation, Workers’ Compensation, and Real Estate firms. Jeremy has worked in the legal industry for over twenty-two years and brings a lifetime of experience and passion to his practice of law. He has lived in Charlottesville since 2008 and intends to make it his lifetime home. He loves Central Virginia and enjoys hiking, cycling, and live music, all of which can be enjoyed in abundance locally. Jeremy mainly assists clients in the areas of criminal and traffic defense, personal injury, and general civil litigation.
